asked Her Majesty's Government:

What proportion of the Kuwaiti population, to their knowledge, are foreign nationals.

According to information published by the Kuwait Government in 1989, approximately 60 per cent. of the population comprised foreign nationals, while a further 12 per cent. comprised persons without citizenship. We have no information about the position following Iraq's brutal invasion.
