What is the present state of relations with Iran.

Diplomatic relations with Iran were resumed on 27th September on the basis of mutual respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs. We and the Iranians will reopen our Embassies in Tehran and London by 27th October. There will further discussion of the outstanding problems between the two countries. It is the Government's view that these problems will more easily be resolved with diplomatic relations than without them.
