HL Deb 21 November 1990 vol 523 c26WA
Lord Harris of Greenwich

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What action they propose to take following the report of the Audit Commission (Income Generation by Provincial Police Forces) and their finding that a number of police forces are undercharging the Home Office for holding remand prisoners.

The Minister of State, Home Office (Earl Ferrers)

The commission's paper was published on 5th November. We are considering what further guidance to give to chief officers on the method of calculating charges for holding remand prisoners and on other matters raised in the commission's report.
