§ Mr. WaddingtonSouth Yorkshire has an estimated population of 1,293,000 of whom 316 are members of the 741W special constabulary. Appendix 7 of the report of Her Majesty's chief inspector of constabulary lists the number of special constables and the population of force areas for each police force in England and Wales, a copy of which is available in the Library.
