Mr. Kilfedder

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether the remit of the Fair Employment Commission extends to employees of integrated schools and of the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools.

Mr. Needham

A teacher in a primary or a secondary school is exempt from the operations of the Fair Employment (NI) Acts 1976 and 1989. They apply however to the employees of educational bodies such as integrated schools and the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools unless they are exempt under section
