§ Mr. NeedhamThe main urban parts of Castlereagh borough council area are covered by the Belfast urban area plan 2001—BUAP—and the recently adopted Carryduff local plan covers a further portion of the council area. Throughout the remaining rural parts of the area the BUAP green belt policy applies.
Work on the preparation of an area plan for the whole of the Castlereagh district is expected to commence in 1993 following a reassessment of the development lands proposed in the BUAP and the expiry of the Carryduff local plan.
