HC Deb 01 November 1990 vol 178 cc707-8W
Mr. Robert Banks

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what consideration he has given to providing slogan signs in lights on bridges spanning trunk and motorway routes urging motorists to heed safety advice.

Mr. Chope

Signing on high-speed roads is kept to the minimum consistent with good direction finding and the provision of other information required by drivers on their journeys. Slogans are generally more suited to other forms of publicity such as leaflets and publicity campaigns.
