To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will list by school for the Doncaster local education authority(a) the number of teacher vacancies and (b) the subjects or speciality.

Information on teacher vacancies by school is not held by the Department.

For Doncaster local education authority as a whole:

  1. (a) There were 21 teacher vacancies on 18 January 1990, giving a vacancy rate of 0.8 per cent.
  2. (b) Of these 21 vacancies, 11 were in primary schools and 10 in secondary schools. Secondary subjects with recorded vacancies were mathematics, modern languages, art, music and physical education.
