§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleySubject to parliamentary approval of the necessary supplementary estimates, the following changes will be made:
The cash limit for class XIII vote 1 (hospital and community health services, family practitioner services (part) and other services, England) will be increased by £178,800,000 (from £13,724,057,000 to £13,902,857,000) to help provide, from 1 April 1990, for the pay awards recommended in the 1990 reports of the review bodies for nursing staff, midwives and professions allied to medicine, and on doctors' and dentists' remuneration, as announced by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 1 February 1990.
The cash limit for class XIII vote 3 (Department of Health administration, miscellaneous health services and personal social services, England) will be increased by £1,531,000 (from £686,387,000 to £687,918,000).
335WThis increase provides for £1,200,000 to meet, from 1 April 1990, the review body recommendations mentioned above; for a £40,000 transfer from class VI, vote 2, (Department of Employment, other programmes and central services) in respect of the workplace advisory services and a net transfer (£291,000) from class XIV, vote 7 (Department of Social Security, administration and miscellaneous services) in respect of printing and office machines. The provision for running costs on this vote and the Department's running cost limit is increased by £3,594,000 from £198,493,000 to £202,087,000.
The public expenditure costs of these changes have been charged to the reserve and do not add to the public expenditure planning total.
