To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science, pursuant to his answer of 15 May to the hon. Member for Bridgend,Official Report, column 363–64, if he will give details of each request received from the management of any independent institute of higher education for an inspection by Her Majesty's inspectors, showing the name of the institution, the purpose of the inspection, its result, its cost and by whom this was borne, for the period 1986 to date.
