HC Deb 08 May 1990 vol 172 c86W
Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if there are any proposals to amend the day on which state retirement pensions are paid to the qualifying date rather than the following Monday.

Mrs. Gillian Shephard

There are no proposals to do so. Under current provisions an individual is entitled to a full weeks pension by the seventh day following the date of their claim. Retirement pension is a regular weekly payment and not payable for part weeks.
