HC Deb 08 May 1990 vol 172 c92W
Mr. Clelland

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the total number of posts to be transferred from the intervention board in Reading to Newcastle upon Tyne excluding posts already located in that city.

Mr. Curry

The work of the agency's external trade division, together with some common service support, will be transferred. The additional number of posts involved, excluding the 136 already located at the agency's Kenton Bar office, is expected to be about 220 jobs.

Mr. Clelland

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what site or sites have been identified to accommodate staff transferred from the intervention board in Reading to Newcastle upon Tyne.

Mr. Curry

The intervention board is interested in a new building in the Newcastle business park but is considering a number of other office development sites.
