§ Mr. John PattenWe have no plans to increase the maximum penalties for child pornography offences. The maximum penalty for some offences is already three years' imprisonment. In addition, a new offence was introduced by the Criminal Justice Act 1988 of possession of an indecent photograph of a child with a penalty of a line of up to £2,000.
