Mr. JacksonThe so-called 21-hour rule administered by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Security permits unemployed adults to receive income support while studying part-time, so long as they are actively seeking work and are prepared to leave their studies immediately a suitable job opportunity arises. Unemployed people undertaking access courses can expect to receive income support in accordance with these criteria.
