To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will make a further statement on the arrangements being made for the London boroughs to take over the responsibilities of the Inner London education authority.

§ Mrs. Rumbold
The transfer process is going satisfactorily and schools and colleges in the 13 inner London LEAs will open for business as usual on Monday 2 April. I look forward to the development of an improved, more cost-effective and more responsive education service in inner London.
