§ Mr. Wigley
To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many students entered the university of Wales colleges in(a) 1979, (b) 1984 and (c) 1989; and what percentage of the intake hailed from Wales in each instance.

Mr. Jackson
The numbers of initial entrants to courses at the colleges of the University of Wales are given in the table. The data cover full-timers and part-timers, and postgraduates and undergraduates.
