§ Mr. WakehamThe only regional service my Department provides is the promotion of energy efficiency. The staff concerned are located in the DTI's regional offices. The details are set out in the table:

The proportion of my Department's running costs accounted for by these staff is 1.75 per cent. which may be roughly equally divided between the regions.
Contributions are also made to the Scottish and Welsh Offices for promoting energy efficiency, the amounts representing about 0.1 per cent. of my Department's running costs in each case.
A breakdown of my Department's total expenditure spent in the regions is not readily available.
