HC Deb 21 March 1990 vol 169 cc680-1W
Mr. Summerson

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many cyclists have been arrested in London's royal parks over the last five years for cycling-related offences.

Mr. Trippier

There is no power of arrest for cycling offences under the royal parks regulations. During the three years 1987–89, four cyclists were arrested for failing to give their name and address, one for being drunk in charge of a cycle and one for assault on the police. Figures for arrests in 1985 and 1986 are not available.
