HC Deb 21 March 1990 vol 169 c646W
1989. Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the total publicity and advertising expenditure, including for privatisation, of his Department and public bodies for which his Department has responsibility in(a) 1979 and (b)

Mr. Rifkind

The latest estimate of expenditure by the Scottish Office in the current financial year on publicity and advertising is £3 million. The corresponding figure for the financial year 1979–80 was £263,000. Information on publicity and advertising expenditure by non-departmental public bodies is not held systematically in my Department.
