Whether they are inviting persons to join the physical education subject working party which the Secretary of State for Education hopes to set up by June 1990; and, if so, whether they include a person with appropriate expertise in the field of physical education for children with special needs.
§ Baroness BlatchMy right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science hopes to make an announcement soon about the timetable and arrangements for considering guidance on physical education within the national curriculum. The noble Baroness's suggestion for working group membership will be carefully considered. We do of course recognise the importance of physical education to children with special education needs and any working group would certainly need to take it into account.
