§ Mr. WaldegraveWe have long urged the South African Government to release all political prisoners. President de Klerk is now committed to releasing prisoners convicted solely for political offences, and has said he is prepared to discuss with opposition groups demands for further releases. We hope those talks will begin as soon as possible.
