HC Deb 12 March 1990 vol 169 c15W
Mr. Michael

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what importance he places on the monitoring of the incidence of various forms of cancer in Wales, generally and by district, in relation to(a) identifying trends, (b) seeking to identify causes and (c) the search for prevention and cure.

Mr. Grist

Cancer registration data covering all forms of cancer in Wales are continually collected, kept under review and periodically published. The most recent report, published in 1988, is entitled "Cancer Registration in Wales 1974–1984". These activities form an important part of the Department's efforts to improve the public health of the Principality.
