§ Mr. TrippierThe Department of the Environment submitted an explanatory memorandum to Parliament on 25 October 1988 setting out the Government's view on the implications of the Commission's proposal for revision of the 1975 directive on waste (88/C295/03) and submitted a further explanatory memorandum on 10 January 1990 on the Commission's amended proposal. The Government also expressed their view in the debate held in the First Standing Committee on European Committee Documents on 20 July 1989 (Official Report, First Standing Committee on European Community Document, 20 July 1989).
