§ Mr. Peter BottomleyThe average waiting time for a vehicle inspection appointment has been reduced from six weeks in August 1989 to four weeks at the present time. The annual inspection of private cars, heavy goods vehicles and public service vehicles is carried out by the Department of the Environment, Northern Ireland, in 15 purpose-built centres.
