§ Mr. Chope[holding answer 25 June 1990]: In accordance with its contractual obligations the corporation made redundancy payments totalling £4.6 million to staff who joined business ventures. The fees paid to business ventures by the development corporation took account of their use of corporation premises.
§ Mr. HoyleTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment for how long rent-free accommodation was provided by Warrington and Runcorn development corporation to business ventures employed by them; and what was the loss of revenue to the corporation.
§ Mr. Chope[holding answer 25 June 1990]: The corporation ensured that the provision of accommodation to business ventures was reflected in the level of fees which it paid for their services. There was therefore no loss of revenue to the corporation. The length of time that busines ventures used corporation accommodation varied from 12 months to 30 months.
