To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he expects employers to contribute to the costs of providing training for people who have disabilities.

Mr. Lang

I see no reason why employers should not make contributions which appropriately reflect the direct benefit which they gain from trainees on placement with them, whether the trainees have disabilities or not, though the level of appropriate contribution will of course vary according to circumstances.
