HC Deb 06 June 1990 vol 173 c652W
34. Mr. Tom Clarke

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when he next expects to meet the Freightliner working party to discuss job prospects for Scotland, including those arising from the Channel tunnel project.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

The remit of the Scottish Freight working group, one of a number of advisory groups set up by British Rail to advise it on the preparation of its plans for the provision of freight and passenger services to the Channel tunnel, has now been completed and there are no plans for the group to reconvene. My right hon. and learned Friend is not aware of the existence of a Freightliner working party.
