Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

The following district councils have made representations:

  • Angus district council
  • Clydebank district council
  • Eastwood district council

Mr. Allan Stewart

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what consideration he has given to the effects on local amenities of the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) (Scotland) Order 1989 (S.I., 1989, No. 147) of 27 March 1989.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

The effects on local amenities of the provisions of the Town and Country Planning (Use Classes) (Scotland) Order 1989 were given careful consideration as part of the consultation process prior to the order coming into force. In response to the comments made on the consultation paper and to protect local amenities we removed public houses and other licensed premises from the food and drink class.
