What were the actual levels and the staff in post at Manchester Strangeways Prison for each month in the last 10 years.

The actual staff in post for officers (including principal and senior officers) at HMP Manchester on 1st April 1990 was 529. The number of officers in post (including chief officers) dating back to just before the introduction of Fresh Start is:

1st April 1986 480
1st April 1987 482
1st April 1988 498
1st April 1989 509

Further information is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
