HC Deb 25 July 1990 vol 177 c367W
Ms. Walley

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what proposals there are to extend the sewage outfall at Waveney, East Anglia; what volume of raw sewage is currently emitted through the outfall; what volume is planned through the extended outfall; and if there are proposals for full treatment sewage works to service the Waveney area.

Mr. Heathcoat-Amory

There are no immediate plans to extend the existing outfall at Lowestoft, which has an average flow of 30,000 cubic metres a day. We are at present discussing with the water industry the level of treatment to be provided at Lowestoft. Sewage from Southwold is already given secondary treatment.
