HC Deb 25 July 1990 vol 177 cc332-3W
Mr. John Morris

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what consideration he has given to pollution from British Petroleum Chemicals at Port Talbot in the last two months; and what steps he intends to take to remedy the situation.

Mr. Grist

I refer the right hon. and learned Gentleman to the reply given to him on 20 July at columns758–59.

Mr. John Morris

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales whether he will ask Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution to monitor on a day-to-day basis industrial pollution at Port Talbot for the next three months.

Mr. Grist

Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution assures me that it will continue to discharge its statutory responsibilities in conjunction with the local authority as necessary.
