HC Deb 25 July 1990 vol 177 c352W
39. Mr. Frank Field

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make further funds available to the Housing Corporation; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Michael Spicer

We are already increasing very significantly the level of resources available to the Housing Corporation for investment in housing associations. The corporation's gross capital expenditure in 1989–90 was £935 million; provision for 1990–91 is £1,100 million and is planned to rise to £1,536 million in 1991–92 and £1,736 million in 1992–93.

67. Mr. Tony Lloyd

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he has any plans to meet the chairman of the Housing Corporation to discuss its finances.

Mr. Nicholls

My hon. Friend the Minister for Housing and Planning meets the chairman of the Housing Corporation from time to time to discuss the corporation's finances and other matters.
