§ Mr. Peter MorrisonIt is essential that all nations play their part in reducing emissions of man-made greenhouse gases. As regards carbon dioxide, the Government have announced that the United Kingdom is prepared, provided that other nations do their share, to set itself the target of stabilising emissions at 1990 levels by 2005. The White Paper on the environment to be published in the autumn will spell out the full range of the Government's policies in relation to global warming, including those in the energy sector.
