§ Mr. Martyn JonesTo ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will list his responsibilities(a) as Secretary of State and (b) as sole shareholder in British Nuclear Fuels plc in relation to the company's financial and accounting procedures; and if he will make a statement on the exercise of these responsibilities.
§ Mr. BaldryBritish Nuclear Fuels plc and its directors must comply with the requirements of the Companies Acts on financial, accounting and audit procedures. Under the terms of section 14 of the Atomic Energy Act 1971 my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State is responsible for laying copies of BNFL's report and accounts before both Houses of Parliament.
