HL Deb 10 July 1990 vol 521 c252WA
Lord Mayhew

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What public funds have been used, on an ad hoc basis or otherwise, to assist (a) Israeli; and (b) Palestinian, exhibitions in the UK in recent years; and what proposals exist for such assistance in the future.

The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Lord Brabazon of Tara)

Since 1986 £4,845 of public funds has been used as grants towards Israeli exhibitions in the UK and during the same period £1,500 was used for Palestinian events. A further £10,000 has been earmarked for the Israeli exhibition to be held at the Barbican this autumn (which will probably contain a Palestinian element). No allocations have yet been made for the new financial year.
