§ Mr. FearnTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he is considering making additional funds available for refugees and displaced people in Mozambique.
§ Mrs. ChalkerI announced in April a grant of £3.5 million and 10,000 tonnes of food aid for displaced persons within Mozambique. The £3.5 million will be used for basic relief supplies, seeds and food.
I also announced in June a further £3 million, in response to an appeal by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, for Mozambican refugees in Malawi and other neighbouring countries. I will continue to monitor the situation in Mozambique very carefully.
