HC Deb 30 January 1990 vol 166 c129W
Mr. Alton

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has as to the arrangements that exist at Liverpool airport for conducting rescue operations in the event of an aircraft ditching in the Mersey at high tide.

Mr. McLoughlin

This is a matter for the Civil Aviation Authority, which has the statutory responsibility for the licensing of Liverpool airport.

I have drawn the hon. Member's question to the attention of the chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority and will ask him to write to the hon. Member direct.
