§ Mr. Heathcoat-AmoryMy hon. Friend the Minister for Local Government and Inner Cities has received a letter from the chairmen of the Association of County Councils, the Association of District Councils and the Association of Metropolitan Authorities, setting out certain points agreed by these associations. He has made it clear that the introduction of the new scheme of remuneration for councillors will be deferred until 1 July 1990 while these points are considered.
