Mr. JacksonThe Government believe that all young people leaving full-time education at 16 or 17 should have the opportunity to pursue good-quality part-time education and training leading to nationally recognised qualifications. It is essential that our work force has the skills necessary to compete in the 1990s. The Government are giving serious consideration to the CBI's proposals for credits as a possible means of achieving this.
