§ Mrs. ChalkerWe have continued our discussions with Brazilian institutions on the details of individual project proposals and several project proposals are now being considered by the Brazilian Government. We expect the Brazilian Government to approve the first project under the memorandum of understanding, a research project to investigate the relationship between deforestation and climate, involving the Institute of Hydrology, within the next few days. We hope to reach agreement shortly on some of the other projects which could then begin in the second quarter of the year.
