§ Mr. RyderThe sterling/ecu exchange rate is published in the Central Statistical Office's "Financial Statistics", table 13.1. Sterling's notional central rates against the European currency unit (ECU) up to and including 12 January 1987 are given in the Commission's booklet "The EMS: Ten Years of Progress in European Monetary Co-operation". Both publications are available in the Library of the House. Sterling's notional central rate following the reweighting of the ecu on 21 September 1989 was set at 0.728627. It was subsequently set at 0.728615 after the realignment of 8 January 1990.
