§ Mr. David ShawTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the progress made since February in implementing the decision to dual the A2 road between Lydden and Dover.
§ Mr. ChopeFollowing the addition of the A2 Lydden (B2060)—Dover improvement scheme to the trunk road programme in February it was announced in September that preparation of the scheme would be open to consultant competition. Arrangements for this are in hand with a view to inviting competitive bids from selected consultants as soon as possible in the new year. A further announcement will be made following the appointment of the successful firm.
