§ Mr. Archie HamiltonWe believe that in 1989 Soviet production of tanks fell markedly from the levels of recent 681W years to around half the previous total. Production of light armoured fighting vehicles and artillery also declined but far less dramatically. However, such cuts were from high historic levels and current production volumes remain high, with the Soviet Union out-producing the whole of NATO in all categories of land arms equipment.
