Dr. David Clark

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) how many farmers were employed in each county in England in(a) June 1988 and (b) June 1989;

(2) how many farm workers were employed in each county in England in (a) June 1988 and (b) June 1989.

The figures for 1988 have recently become available and are shown in the tables. The processing of the June 1989 census is continuing and will be published as soon as possible.
