HL Deb 19 October 1989 vol 511 c1131WA
Lord Aylestone

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they can confirm that the proposals by British Rail to close the automatic railway crossing at Goring-by-Sea in West Sussex, which may cause difficulties for disabled persons and mothers with prams, will require the approval of both Houses of Parliament.

Viscount Davidson

British Rail has no plans at present to close the level crossing at Goring-by-Sea Station, though I understand that such proposals may be put forward at a later stage by means of private legislation. In that event, the approval of both Houses would be required.
