To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science by how much he expects the budgets of opted-out schools to increase.

Funding for a grant-maintained school is calculated according to what its former maintaining local education authority would have spent on the school. This includes a per pupil share of the LEA's indirect spending on schools in the form of centrally-provided services. That share varies from one school and LEA to another but to date has been equal on average to about 15 per cent. of LEA's direct spending on schools.
