HC Deb 15 November 1989 vol 160 c294W
Mr. Cartwright

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement about progress on the redevelopment of their part of the royal arsenal, Woolwich, which has already been vacated by his Department.

Mr. Archie Hamilton

Discussions have been held with the London borough of Greenwich to consider possible future uses of the riverside area at royal arsenal west as part of comprehensive disposal framework embracing the entire west and east sites at Woolwich, which we intend to vacate during the period 1993 and 1995. Officials from the Ministry of Defence and the Crown Estate Commissioners attended the Greenwich waterfront conference on 1 November and further meetings are now planned to continue the close working relationship which has been established.
