§ Mr. Douglas Hogg[holding answer 9 November 1989]: No information is available on the United Kingdom content of cars produced or assembled in the United Kingdom. The table shows the ratio of imports to output of motor cars by number for 1963, 1968, 1974, 1979, 1984 and 1989 (January-August) and the relevant weights in the index of manufacturing output for the base years of the index (ie 1963, 1970, 1975, 1980 and 1985).
