§ Mrs. MahonTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what arrangements he has made to monitor the effectiveness of the Noise at Work Regulations 1989.
§ Mr. NichollsInspectors appointed under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 will enforce the regulations as they do other regulations made under the Act. In addition inspectors will be carrying out a special programme of visits during 1991 and 1992 to obtain information on the extent to which employers and employees together with the makers and suppliers of machinery understand and meet their obligations under the regulations.
