HC Deb 07 November 1989 vol 159 cc581-2W
Mr. Murphy

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many lecturers in maintained further education are female hourly paid part-time employees.

Mr. Jackson

Information held centrally provides only the full-time equivalent of part-time further education lecturers (not their number), nor are there separate figures for men and women. However, the total full-time equivalents of hourly paid part-time lecturers employed by local education authorities in England in January 1989 was 20,243.
